Climb 287 steps for panoramic views of Prague
This nearly 100-meter high tower offers a unique view of Prague. Construction was started by architect Peter Parler at the end of the 14th century, but completion involved later additions like the 16th-century gallery and 18th-century dome. The climb of 287 steps rewards visitors with one of the most beautiful views in the world.
The Zikmund Bell
The tower houses Zikmund, the biggest bell in the country, weighing about 15 tons. Cast in 1549, it features gorgeous relief decorations. It requires 6 bell-ringers to swing it into motion. Legend says that when the clapper cracked in June 2002, it predicted the disastrous flood that arrived in August of that year.
